Visual Storytelling Through Painting
For this project, you will create a painting inspired by Moses Amik Beaver's ability to tell stories through his use of colour and imagery. Your painting will consist of a story of your own, based on your past experiences/culture/traditions, along with a colour palette of your choosing. Visual storytelling can be very moving for both the artist and viewer, I look forward to seeing what you create!
STEPS
- Think of a story you want to tell based on your history/culture/traditions.
- Complete 1 page in your sketchbook mapping out your story with the following: Theme, Characters, Setting, Problem and Solution.
- Research the psychology of color, here is a pdf overview but do your own research to include in your sketchbook
- Choose 1 of the color schemes below, paint an example of your chosen color scheme in your sketchbook as well as a few points/sentences referencing the psychology behind the colors you have selected.
